The Air Jordan III will be sticking around for a while in 2013, the likes of the ‘Joker’ and ‘Bright Crimson’ pairs getting joined by an OG look later on in the year. That would be the Air Jordan III ‘Fire Red’, the only of the original colorways for this sneaker to not get the retro treatment in the recent 2011 run. Interestingly enough, the pair falls in the same season as this all new ‘Fire Red’ Air Jordan IV, so they may be part of some simultaneous pack. With 2013 marking the 25th anniversary of the iconic Air Jordan III, the Jordan Brand will be going all out with the return of the classic silhouette in original form with Nike Air branding.
Said to be releasing February 2013 in celebration of MJ's 50th birthday and the historic '88 Slam Dunk Contest, the Air Jordan 3 '88 is nearly identical to the OG AJ III with the White/Cement Grey color combo and Nike Air branding we've all been hoping to see for quite sometime now.
Could this be a sign of the Jordan Brand's future 25th anniversary celebration plans for the Air Jordan IV, V and VI in the coming years?
Out of all of the confirmed releases for 2013, there was one mystery Air Jordan 3 colorway that many were hoping to be Fire Red or Mocha, but it’s looking like there’s a new colorway added to the AJ 3 Legacy, dubbed “Crimsonâ€ÂÂÂÂ. This brand new colorway sports a black tumbled leather upper with bright crimson accents featured on the eyelets, tongue and liner.
